Fried Cabbage

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 6 thick bacon cut into cubes
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika


  • Remove and discard the cabbage core. Cut the cabbage into cubes or slices and set aside until ready to cook.
  • In a non-stick pan, cook the bacon on medium heat for 6-8 minutes or until crispy. Transfer the crispy bacon to a bowl/plate. Do not discard the grease.
  • In the same pan, add onion and cook for 1-2 minutes or until translucent. Add garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
  • Change the temp from high to medium-high. Add chopped cabbage to the pan and cook for 14-15 minutes (stir and mix every 2-3 minutes). Once the cabbage begins to look tender add the salt, pepper and paprika, then mix well. Turn up the heat to high and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes (stir occasionally).
  • Remove the pan from the heat source. Add the crispy bacon then mix well. Season with salt & pepper to taste.
