Spicy Honey Beef Stir-Fry

Ingredients

Thinly slice the steak and place in a bowl.

Cover the meat with 1 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp soy sauce.

Mix until well coated. Set aside and marinate for 15 minutes.

In a bowl: combine all the sauce ingredients, mix and set aside.

Add marinatd meat and cook for 5-6 minutes or until no longer pink. Add garlic and dried peppers. Cook for 1 minute or until fragrant.

Pour the sauce and cornstarch mixture into the skillet/pan. Mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens.

Serve with you preferred dish; rice or vegetables.

Marinate

  • 1 ½ lb sirlion steak or flank steak
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp shaoxing cooking wine or dry sherry

Sauce

  • cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp shaoxing cooking wine or dry sherry
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce

Cornstarch Mixture

  • ½ tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp filtered water `

Other ingredients

  • 5-8 dried red peppers cut into 1"
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 garlic cloves minced

Instructions

  • Heat skillet/pan to medium-high. Add 2 tbsp oil and wait for 1 minute.
  • Add marinated meat and cook for 5-6 minutes or until no longer pink.
  • In a small bowl: mix cornstarch and water together (make sure the cornstarch has dissolved).
  • Add garlic and dried peppers. Cook for 1 minute or until fragrant.
  • Pour the sauce and cornstarch mixture into the skillet/pan. Mix well.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens.

Serve with your favorite rice!
