Ingredients
Thinly slice the steak and place in a bowl.
Cover the meat with 1 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp soy sauce.
Mix until well coated. Set aside and marinate for 15 minutes.
In a bowl: combine all the sauce ingredients, mix and set aside.
Add marinatd meat and cook for 5-6 minutes or until no longer pink. Add garlic and dried peppers. Cook for 1 minute or until fragrant.
Pour the sauce and cornstarch mixture into the skillet/pan. Mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
Serve with you preferred dish; rice or vegetables.

Marinate
- 1 ½ lb sirlion steak or flank steak
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp shaoxing cooking wine or dry sherry
Sauce
- ⅓ cup honey
- ¼ cup low-sodium beef broth
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp shaoxing cooking wine or dry sherry
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
Cornstarch Mixture
- ½ tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp filtered water `
Other ingredients
- 5-8 dried red peppers cut into 1"
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 garlic cloves minced
Instructions
Marinate

- Add garlic and dried peppers. Cook for 1 minute or until fragrant.
- Pour the sauce and cornstarch mixture into the skillet/pan. Mix well.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
