One of the first things I learned how to cook growing up was a good ole iron skillet butter smothered grilled cheese sandwich. Like many of you, I love to experiment with my new appliances to see what is possible as I measure the quality of the dish and compare it to traditional methods. For me, a crispy hot grilled cheese is one of life’s simple pleasures and believe you me when I say it just got even easier. Fresh thick bread covered with a taste bud popping spread that creates a glistening appearance while maintaining that butter saturated texture you would cook up in grandma’s old skillet is what this cheese dripping recipe will deliver.
My favorite thing about an appliance like my Air Fryer, is how versatile I become in my ability to cook a good meal on the road or the times when I just don’t feel like scrubbing a bunch of dishes. Also, for those of us with a growing kitchen staff of teenagers in the home, it is nice to have a a cheap and easy to make snack when hungry and rummaging for something to eat. The bread out of the air fryer is so crispy and taste saturated that it awakens your flavor receptors as they prepare for the comfort that may only be provided by a mouthful of your favorite hot melted cheese.

Spread ½ tbsp mayonnaise or butter on the outside of bread.
Air fry on 370°F for 6 minutes total cook time, flip after the intial 3 minutes (half way point).

Air Fryer Grilled Cheese
- Air Fryer
- 2 sliced bread
- 2 sliced cheese
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise or butter (softened)
- Place the sliced cheese between the bread.
- Spread ½ tbsp mayonnaise or butter on the outside of bread.
- Air fry on 370°F for 6 minutes total cook time, flip after the first 3 minutes (half way point). It is recommended that you check your toast after the initial couple of minutes as you may need to reduce or increase your total cook time +/- 1 minute depending on your specific make and model.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
