Chocolate Chip Banana Bread takes the sweet natural flavors of a nice ripe banana and embeds it in a fluffy, chocolate moist bread and turns them into something truly rewarding. All the sweet flavors of warm rich banana bread with gentle layers of elegant chocolate will have food lovers closing their eyes as they softly bite into this heavenly bread. Fresh from the oven, this bread is so richly aromatic that it makes the house smell like a well baked banana chocolate dessert. Once I started to slice the loaf the “I am next” line started with empty plates and clamoring forks. Ripe Bananas

Smash the ripe bananas using a fork or potato masher.

Add brown sugar, oil, eggs, vanilla extract and mix.

In a bowl: add flour, cocoa powder, salt & baking soda while mixing everything together. (I highly recommend sifting the dry ingredients before adding to the wet ingredients, this will make the batter fluffy and not lumpy). Combine wet and dry ingredients together.

Mix until well combined.

Add ¾ cup of chocolate chips and fold with spatula.

Transfer the batter to the loaf pan.

Sprinkle ¼ cup of chocolate chips on top of the batter.

Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick placed in the center of the bread comes out clean.

Remove from the oven and rest the bread in the pan for 15-20 minutes before transferring the loaf to a baking rack to finish cooling.

Slice, serve & enjoy!
