Chick-Fil-A Fried Chicken Sandwich (Copycat)

This tasty Chick-Fil-A Fried Chicken Sandwich (Copycat) is a fried chicken lovers dream. Juicy chicken lightly covered with a succulent restaurant styled sauce, lettuce and tomato. Very few things are more comforting than a plate covered with a large delicious Fried Chicken sandwich. Best served warm, this is an easy meal, that is finger licking good. Clean and pat the chicken breast dry using paper towel(s). Slice the breasts in half. Place the halved slices of chicken breasts in a bowl. Then pour in the pickle juice. Be sure to submerge the chicken in the juice. Cover & marinate for 30 minutes.

Remove the chicken from the pickles juice. Pat the chicken dry using paper towel(s) (do not skip this step), then set aside. In a shallow bowl: add egg and whisk. Add milk and continue to whisk.

In a separate shallow bowl: combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic, chili powder, paprika, sugar and mix well. Dip the chicken in the egg mixture then coat both sides with flour mixture. Dip the single coated chicken once again in the eggs and re-flour (to double dip) and set aside. Repeat steps to double bread the rest of the chicken.

Heat the oil up to 350°F. Add breaded chicken to the hot oil. Cook for 3-5 minutes each side.

Transfer to baking rack.

Copycat Chick-Fil-A Chicken Sandwich

Ingredients
  

Marinate

  • 2 chicken breasts boneless & skinless
  • 1 cup pickle juice

Egg Mixture

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk

Breading

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder

Copycat Chick-A-Fil Sauce

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

Sandwich

  • 2-3 cups peanut or canola oil
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • sliced pickles

Instructions
 

Marinate

Sauce

  • In a bowl: combine all the ingredients and mix well. Cover and refrigerate until ready to eat.

Breading

  • Remove the chicken from the pickles juice. Pat the chicken dry using paper towel(s) (do not skip this step), then set aside. In a shallow bowl: add egg and whisk. Add milk and continue to whisk. In a separate shallow bowl: combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic, chili powder, paprika, sugar and mix well.
  • Dip the chicken in the egg mixture then coat both sides with flour mixture. Dip the single coated chicken once again in the eggs and re-flour (to double dip) and set aside. Repeat steps to double bread the rest of the chicken.

Cook

  • Heat the oil up to 350°F. Add breaded chicken to the hot oil. Cook for 3-5 minutes each side. Transfer to baking rack.

Assemble the Sandwich

  • Smear butter on the inside of the buns and toast until crisp around the edges. Spread sauce over the buns. Top with crispy chicken and pickles.

Deluxe Sandwich

  • Additional topping: green lettuce, sliced tomatoes & cheese.
